Hobbies
I have a nagging desire to go everywhere and see everything. My hobbies include traveling, hiking, drawing, reading and writing, debating, watching old movies with my husband, and photography. I am a black belt in tae kwon do, I played the flute in band throughout middle and high school, and I enjoy all kinds of sports. My favorite historical figures are James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, and Virginia Hall (I think, it's so hard to choose!), and my favorite movie star is Doris Day (that is not a hard choice at all!). My favorite mystery writer is Agatha Christie, and my favorite sleuth is Nancy Drew. My teaching style is based on a collaborative approach that engages the intelligence and existing skills/knowledge of the student. I believe that each student has the ability to succeed in mastering the subject, and that my task is to show them how to harness their talents to realize their potential. I like to identify the unique learning style of the student and use object lessons to illustrate difficult concepts. I look forward to meeting you!
