EducationI am a Doctoral Candidate in an Interdisciplinary Program in Entomology and Insect science at The University of Arizona. Currently I am Situated at the Department of Neuroscience.
I work at the University as a Teaching Associate.
ExperienceMy previous tutoring experience stems from the two years that I worked with undergraduate students to prepare for the board exams for Junior Research Fellowships while I attended my graduate institution. I tutored students in Biology, Entomology, Immunology, Physiology, Microbiology and Plant science and Toxicology. The approach that I use to tutor students consists of breaking down the subject matter into its most simplistic form. In my experience, by simplifying the material, one can start to build a solid foundation that will later be helpful when it comes time to learn more difficult concepts. This approach has helped me excel countless courses in Biology.
Later after my masters, for the last 3 years I have been pursuing PhD at the University and during this period I have taught Biology for a year. Based my teaching performance I got promoted from Teaching Assistant to Teaching Associate. Currently I am teaching Immunology class.
I want to tutor because I want to help students who are in need of some support with their course materials and home works/assignments. Tutoring is one of the ways I enjoy connecting with others on a personal level (one-on-one and small groups). I enjoy working with students who really need help and who are motivated enough to learn the subject.
I have taken many relevant classes in Biology such as: Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Physiology, Entomology and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology classes.
HobbiesI love hiking, going on a road trip sometimes, play soccer game, reading books, listening to music and working out at the gym.
