I live in Tucson, Arizona and I attended both the University of New Mexico and Yale University. For a large part of my life, I have taught. Right now, I work at a middle school teaching sixth grade students language arts and social studies. Before this, I taught at an elementary school in the areas of reading and music. When I was an undergraduate and a graduate student, I helped high school kids with their test preparation skills in effort to ready them for entry into college. To my peers, I taught music. I am also experienced in tutoring mathematics and am certified in secondary math instruction.I like to help people achieve full understanding of subject matter that seems daunting from the outset. When the light bulb goes off in a student's mind, I am highly satisfied. To know that someone is no longer struggling with a concept is rewarding. In my spare time, I like going for hikes, reading books, and doing things in my garden.
