Experience

I received my Master of Arts in Philosophy from The University of Colorado. During my time at the university I became a teaching assistant for some of the philosophy courses. I found a true love for education and went on to receive a secondary education teaching credential from Prima as well as being certified as secondary teacher in the subjects of English, History, Social Studies, Geography, Political Science, Middle School General Sciences, and American Government. As both a teacher and a tutor I really enjoy teaching students to employ critical thinking skills and to develop their persuasive writing skills. Being able to clearly explain to others why you hold a belief and even influencing their opinion is something I love helping my students master. When teaching history I find it rewarding to help students see the overarching themes that run through a time period or civilization and how they influenced events. In addition to the core subjects listed above I also tutor students in general test preparation as well as helping them prepare for specific tests such as the ACT, SAT, PSAT, and AIMS.When I'm not teaching or tutoring I enjoy video and board games with my friends and family, reading, and soccer.
