Experience
I attended Pennsylvania State University, where I got my degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, I worked as a material scientist for a number of years. I've always been interested in science and math, and I especially enjoy Physics. I haven't tutored professionally for all that long, but I definitely am a life-time learner and teacher. My teaching skill set is really broad, ranging from traditional education to everyday life skills (like tying knots, oil changes, and playing the drums). I've tutored Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Physics, and other mathematics and sciences. I've also lectured other engineers on shape memory alloys. I've found that I have a great ability to advise and help others in both informal and formal teaching environments. I've enjoyed working individually with peers because it helped me understand that everyone has their own way of learning and grasping material. It's really rewarding to witness a student understanding a complex concept or idea. I like to believe being patient and communicative helps me to adapt to many different learning styles. In my spare time, I enjoy bike-riding, staying healthy, practicing yoga, and cooking. I'm interested in the drums, gardening, motorcycles, and sustainable agriculture, as well.
