Experience
I am of the belief that learning is something that should be accessible to all individuals. On top of that, learning should be enjoyable. It is simply a matter of finding what clicks with the student and makes sense to them. I also believe in working together with my students, as part of a team on their quest for knowledge.I've worked as a consultant with Global Collect, and I've also been involved in several startups, mostly related to financial technology. When I attended the University of Arizona, I worked as a teacher's assistant. I worked with over 100 different students, and I found the position to be very rewarding. Currently I am coding for a project that involves Ruby-on-Rails. I can tutor students in many subjects, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1-3/4, Precalculus, Calculus 1-2, Geometry, Elementary and Middle School Math, Statistics, Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Writing, Essay Editing, College Essays, American History, European History, Microeconomics, Economics, English, Science, Computer Programming, Social Studies, Business, and Government. I am also available to help gifted students, as well as those needing help with the SAT, ACT, and GRE.I graduated from Carleton College, where I double majored in Political Science and Economics. I earned my M.A. in Government and Public Policy at the University of Arizona. When I'm not working, I love to go hiking, listen to music, read books, and code.
