Experience
Middle/High School tutoring, Lower-division College tutoring, since 2009. I began tutoring in 2009 while finishing High school and continued through my undergraduate degree through a campus extension program. I primarily tutor students working through pre-algebra, algebra, and pre-calculus, although my subjects branch out to more areas of focus depending on my student's needs. I make connections between unfamiliar material and older material, or across disciplines so that students can see the interwoven nature of math and science and how they can build on one another. I have often seen students struggling with concepts in some area, but upon identifying a likeness in an area of their interest, they light up with their newfound knowledge. Moments like those are what I tutor for; for each student I can help towards fulfilling their potential, the more I feel I have done as a tutor and educator.
