Life is anything but a straight line. As a high school student, I planned to become a musician and tour with a band, but I began tutoring in order to fund those goals and became so interested in the subjects I was teaching that I reversed course. A graduate of Arizona State University, I have a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, went for my master's degree, and am now enrolled in medical school.What caused this major career departure? Subjects like Mathematics and Science opened up so many possibilities and a whole new world for me. Normally considered dull and difficult, I found them to be inspiring and enabling, and I can transmit that feeling to students who are willing to listen. My research at ASU has also pointed out methods for helping students find out what they want to do with their lives.I believe the major requirements for success in math and science are the desire to learn, the student's confidence that they can do the work, and the ability to manage time well. Having spent a lot of time in Greece, the land of my heritage, I am able to tutor in a variety of disciplines, but I most enjoy the subjects of Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.
