I am a tutor of Mandarin Chinese as well as a graduate of Brigham Young University. I have been a tutor for five years and spent eight years living in China and Taiwan teaching and participating in study abroad programs and internships. I understand that the Chinese language often seems overwhelming to people; however, I think it is actually simpler to learn than many other languages. I try to keep learning fun and interesting, keeping students motivated; I find that this helps them retain what they have learned better and more quickly have a better understanding of the language being taught. I believe technology is a great addition to the teaching process and utilize it often in my tutoring. My passion is helping students learn the language and I enjoy working with them based on their individual, unique styles of learning. I hope to instill in my students a love of the language, so as to inspire a lifelong hobby of learning about it. When I am not tutoring I enjoy outdoor activities, sports, painting, dancing, watching movies and spending quality time with my family.
