Experience
I have tutored math and science for seven years. Algebra/algebra II and chemistry are my favorite things to cover with my students but I tutor in geometry and physics as well. I can also tutor precalculus, trigonometry, PSAT Critical Reading, and PSAT, SAT, and ACT preparation and subject materials. When tutoring my students, my approach is to first identify why they are struggling. We then work through these challenges using clear explanations, which I try to make as novel as I can, and targeted practice. If a student can master the material, I believe, they can gain much-needed confidence to do well in school. I am a graduate of Rice University in Houston, Texas. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology plus a B.A. in Gender Studies. It is in this field I am going for my PhD at the University of Arizona. In the meantime, tutoring is something I'm good at and I believe I can change the course of one's academic career. Tucson is currently my hometown and I enjoy creative writing and visual arts during my free time. In addition, I'm a reader and like to visit art and cultural events, and go hiking, on occasion.
