Experience
I graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy with minors in Chinese language and literature. Since then, I have spent time as a tutor in Shenzhen, China, teaching others the English language.My experience has taught me that one of the most important aspects of working effectively with students is to build a relationship of equality and respect. One of my strengths as a tutor is my ability to take a difficult concept and break it down so that my students are able to easily understand the topic. I am also a very flexible teacher, and I work with each student to tailor our sessions to what the student needs, whether it's general knowledge improvement, classroom improvement, or to improve a student's testing skills and scores. I can teach a number of AP and IB subjects, though my main focuses are LSAT preparation, Mandarin Chinese, writing, and English. I am also more than capable of preparing students for the ACT and SAT, as well as a variety of standardized subject tests. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, hiking, listening to music, and keeping up with politics.
