I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Currently, I am working toward teaching high school math and science by earning a secondary teaching certificate.I have worked as a tutor since I was in high school, and I have found a particular fondness for tutoring Calculus and General Chemistry. However, I am also qualified to teach other mathematics and science topics, such as Algebra, Trigonometry, and Chemical Engineering. I have also worked to help prepare students for standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT. I have seen many sizable improvements in my students' understanding of test procedures and subject matter, especially in the areas of Critical Reading and Writing. ACT and SAT Subject Tests are also covered.In my tutoring sessions, I focus holistically on the students' educational experience. Students are given the chance to focus on issues they struggle with, but we also work together to solidify the their understanding of core concepts. They are taught to recognize how these concepts fit into the entire curriculum, thus giving them a "big picture" idea of the goals of the class. I believe education to be a crucial factor in a satisfying life, and I endeavor to help my pupils understand this as well. In my personal life, I enjoy a variety of hobbies. Outdoors, I love hiking, camping, golf, and Ultimate Frisbee. Indoors, I'm found practicing guitar and playing video games.
