I am a tutor with a range of experiences working with children, including working as a swim instructor, counselor, and teaching in after-school programs. I have the skill set to tutor students needing assistance with a variety of courses, including algebra, geometry, elementary math, middle school math, anatomy, biology, physiology, environmental science, reading, writing, literature, grammar, PSAT prep, SAT prep, ACT prep, college essays, psychology, study skills, and ISEE, among other courses. My tutoring style incorporates use of both examples and metaphors to guarantee that my students can understand the material. I also like to maintain a positive and safe environment for the students I work with to ensure that they feel comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback. My relaxed personality helps my students to feel at ease, as well as my strong communication skills. I specialize in adapting the material for my students to meet each person's unique learning needs. My teaching philosophy is that every student is able to learn when given adequate guidance and instruction. After graduating from Kenyon College in 2012, I moved to Tucson, Arizona, where I currently reside. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, dancing, doing crossword puzzles, reading, going to the theater, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
