Experience
I received my BS in Family Studies and Human Development at the University of Arizona in 2014. I am now in the process of applying for grad school to pursue a MFA in Fiction. I have three years of tutoring experience at the University of Arizona, including working as an academic skills tutor and a writing center tutor. I tutor English, geography, history, religious studies, and sociology. English and psychology are my favorite subjects. I have found that psychology is especially easy for students to make a personal connection to what they're studying. I believe that each student is unique and I like to take on the challenge of creating alternative and innovative tutoring sessions to meet their needs. I like to move beyond having students fill out note cards to be quizzed on day in and day out. I love being a tutor because it is an honor to experience the excitement of a student when they finally understand the material.In my free time, I love to write and read. I am a published author (my first book is out!), and a bibliophile. I also like to slow down and relax by practicing yoga.
