Originally from NY, I attended SUNY Geneseo for my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Special Education and dance. I moved to Tucson in 2009 on a full scholarship to complete my Master's degree in Language, Reading and Culture at the University of Arizona. Through this program, I earned my Reading Specialist degree.

Experience

I have 6 years teaching experience with children between K-6th grade. Currently, I am a full time elementary school teacher in Tucson. I encourage children to think for themselves, ask questions and to love the learning process. As a teacher in the field, I can provide support in understanding and learning the educational standards that are appropriate for the age and level of the child. I am also a world traveler. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Vanuatu. I served there as an education volunteer, working in with both children and teachers.

My favorite hobby is dancing. I have danced since I was 5 years old and still take classes as an adult. I am most comfortable with ballet, jazz, modern, Afro- Brazilian and Afro-Cuban. I also love to be in nature. I hike regularly and bike whenever I can. Cooking is another hobby of mine. I enjoy creating my own recipes and trying new foods.
