Experience
I teach all high school grades, but have tutored elementary all the way to college math. A math geek at heart, I am qualified to tutor algebra, calculus (first semester and AP), and geometry as well as undergraduate statistics and GRE quantitative reasoning. I believe the subject material must be presented so the individual student can fully understand it. I state details in numerous ways to accommodate different people and learning styles. Breaking material down into small steps, I also avoid turning math lessons into disparate facts and procedures. My goal is for the student to understand it as a consistent system while not wasting any time.Northern Arizona University is my alma mater. I have a bachelor's in mathematics and, after graduating, moved to Tucson where I taught high school math for over 12 years. Currently I'm working towards a statistics master's at the University of Arizona. My style is intellectual and science, history, and comparative religion interest me. I'm also a science fiction buff and have been at Phoenix Comicon, although I refuse to wear a costume! I live with my wife and dog, Oreo, in Tucson, and grill for our friends. Occasionally I challenge them at game night.
