The most important part of learning math is collecting solid skills and tools that one can turn to when struggling with a particularly frustrating problem. One's skill set grows as complexity increases. Each course in math requires a solid grasp of the skills learned in a lower level course. For example, it is necessary to have an understanding of geometry to advance to integrals. It is my job to make sure students know the ins and outs of each skill and that they stay positive so they are able to use their creativity and critical thinking with any problem. I think math is incredible because it is both logical, like a puzzle, and creative. There are many ways to reach the solution to each problem, and I find this interesting and inspiring. I am learning more of this myself as a junior at the University of Arizona seeking a degree in Mathematics. Some of the courses that I tutor in include Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, AP Calculus, and Middle School Math. When not tutoring, I enjoy cooking, knitting, reading, playing the piano, and dancing. I currently reside in Tucson, Arizona.
