I am a tutor who is passionate about science. I'm available to tutor biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, physical chemistry, physics, biochemistry, environmental science, and a multitude of other subjects. I earned my degrees in Biology and Chemistry with departmental and liberal studies at Northern Arizona University. I am now studying Behavioral and Evolutionary Biology in graduate school. I believe that students must be interested in a subject in order to learn it, and as a tutor I try to find any aspect of a subject that a student takes interest in and I use it to motivate and encourage them to learn. I have an example based tutoring approach - I use a lot of examples so that my students develop a solid understanding of the material and so that they can learn a variety of problem solving methods. I work with my students to develop a holistic understanding of the scientific subjects we are studying. I want them to understand the far reaching applications and effects of the sciences. When I'm not tutoring I am typically outdoors being active. I love to go rock climbing, go on backpacking trips, and to hike. I am also a huge video game lover.
