Education
I completed my BA in French and Classics at the UofA in 2013, and will be completing my MA in French with an emphasis in Teaching French as a Foreign Language in May 2016. I'll also be starting a Ph.D. program in Second Language Studies in the fall of 2016. I also lived in Paris for nearly a full year as part of my MA program.
Experience
In my Senior year at Casa Grande Union High School, I was the President of the French Club. I love French and I love teaching. Ever since my first French class, I knew I wanted to teach French. I'm patient and can help students of the language memorize and speak the language. Throughout my undergraduate career, I took French 432 (Transnlation), 442 (Film and Narrative), and French 461a (Linguistics). I tested into French 201 (Intermediate French 1) when first starting at the UofA and have completed French 201, 202 (Intermediate French 2), 301 (Pronunciation and Conversation), 302 (Grammar, Usage, and Composition), 310 (Spoken French in a Cultural Context), 320 (Written French in a Cultural Context), French 410 (Film and Fiction), and French 420 (Cultural History). In my MA career, I've taken FREN 567 (Topics in French Linguistics) twice (the topic the first semester was Morpho-syntax and Pedagogy the second), several French literature classes, SLAT (Second Language Acquisition and Teaching) 579 (Issues and Methodologies in Second Language Acquisition), and SLAT 581 (Technology in the Foreign Language Classroom). I'm currently working on a Masters thesis about French native speakers' acquisition of the English present progressive. As a GAT (Graduate Assistant Teacher), I've taught FREN 101, 102, 202, and 301 (Phonetics and Conversation.
