I recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. after studying English Literature, Spanish Language and Literature, and Creative Writing. I was employed as a tutor for the UA Think Tank from 2010 to 2012 where I tutored other students. I was able to work with a wide variety of students including those whose native language was not English as well as graduate level students in various fields. During my tenure with the Think Tank I also earned level three certification from the College Reading & Learning Association which allowed me to train and mentor new tutors.In 2011 I had the opportunity to study in Madrid, Spain, where I was welcomed by a local family. This fully immersive experience gave me a greater appreciation of Spanish culture and language and helped me became fluent in Spanish. I believe this is one of the best ways for people to learn more about foreign languages.In addition to language I am truly passionate about writing. Recently I completed my thesis project in poetry for UA. Helping others develop a robust understanding of the English language, including a firm grasp of grammar and an appreciation of literature, is extremely important to me. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion for learning with your students.
